Women In Technology Opens Nominations for 11th Annual Leadership Awards

 

Organization Introduces Four New Award Categories to Honor Emerging and Cutting Edge Areas of Technology Including Public Sector Corporate, Health IT, Global Impact and Unsung Hero Awards

 

FAIRFAX, Va. – January 12, 2010 – Women in Technology (WIT), the premiere organization empowering women to be architects of change in the technology industry, today announced the call for nominations for the 11th Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards. This year WIT announces the debut of four new award categories: Public Sector Corporate Award (Large and Small), Health IT Award, Global Impact Award and Unsung Hero Award. The annual awards program honors leading female professionals working in the Greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area who have exemplified unique vision and talent in the technology industry during the previous year. Members and non-members are eligible for nomination and winners will be announced at the Leadership Awards Banquet on May 20, 2010 at the Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner.

 

“The 11th Annual Women in Technology Leadership Award’s theme, ‘No One Path,’ celebrates the various career paths, challenges and aspirations that have led professional women to make an unprecedented impact on the technology industry,” said Toni Townes-Whitley, president of WIT. “We are thrilled to add four new award categories that will honor a broader range of professional women who have brought lasting progress, innovation and cooperation to the local technology industry and the community as a whole.”
